Your personal chef, Maria Benardis, has spent years studying ancient Greek cuisine and travelling throughout Greece to explore ingredients, recipes, people and culture. She travelled to Kalamata and the Peloponnesus region, the Attica region (Athens) and the islands of Crete, Rhodes, Psara, Chios, Aegina, Symi, Tinos, Mykonos and Santorini.
After working in the kitchen at Neil Perry's XO, she realised she wanted to share her Greek recipes and travelling stories with others. And what better way to do this than as a personal chef in your own home?
On the day of your private dining experience, Maria will come to your home with linen, cutlery, crockery, glassware, ingredients and a bottle of wine to match your menu.
She uses only the freshest organic ingredients wherever possible and will accommodate your preferences and special dietary requirements. We offer a variety of menus for you to choose from and Maria will contact you prior to your cooking class to discuss your dinner.
As an example, your menu may include:
* Ouzo-spiked oysters
* Saffron-infused prawn and scallop filo parcels
* Zesty mixed leaf and pomegranate salad
* Poached seasonal fruit in sweet Mavrodaphne (sweet wine from Patras, Greece) with honeyed Greek yoghurt
* Freshly brewed coffee, or Greek coffee, accompanied by a selection of chocolates
During your three-hour private dining experience you will get the opportunity to watch Maria prepare your feast while listening to the story and history behind each dish. The preparation and clean-up are also taken care of, which makes your private dining experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible!
